The Funniest Story

My first Performance Ratoeh Jaroe Dance

I will never forget the first time I performed dancing Ratoeh Jaroe  or commonly known as saman dance with my school Ratoeh Jaroe Team in the 12th grade graduation ceremony of my high school. My team consisted of 14 people. At that time I was in 10th grade same as my friends on the team. I felt very excited because it was my first performed . We practiced every day after school, we practiced casually but seriously I enjoyed it. I really liked to practice, even though sometimes I was tired, but I still got excited. Because I wanted to show the best. I was very impatient waited for that day.

Finally the long-awaited day arrived, we gathered at school at 5:00 in the morning, after that we went to the event building to make up and wore Ratoeh Jaroe dance uniforms. That day I wore a blue uniform.  Before performed, we took the time to have breakfast first.  Time is so fast my team was told to get ready to go up on stage.  Until then we got on stage, I felt very nervous because so many people in front of me. We started dancing, my position is the far left of the line right next to the big sound system. The obstacle I felt at the time was that I could not hear the song clearly, so funniest stories happened, at that time when we all sat down and bowing I did not hear the song sign to sit back upright because of the loud sound system. It turned out that all my friends no longer bowed.  I felt very embarrassed because everyone in front of me held back laughter.

In the end, after we finished performing, my team and I laughed behind the stage, and my teacher also said that I had performed the best.
